Somebody suggested that I create my own blog, to avoid spamming and rambling in others' comment-space. I responded with a resounding 'maybe' -- which I now amend to 'naw.'
Anyway, I've decided I'll start a new trend in the ''blog'osphere', and we'll need to come up with a pithy(/retarded) name for it so the conventional news media have something to report on a year after it becomes popular. I'll be blogging but my entries will only exist like this. And, like most bloggers, I'll prolly quit doing it in a month or so.
Today's entry compares employment to friction (and has nothing to do with husky people and corduroy long pants). Sound intriguing? Read on --
Getting a job can be hard, but once you have a job, you don't have to be nearly as good as your resume implies to keep it. It's like the difference between static and sliding friction. It's tough to get moving, but once yer going, not so tough. I've seen some resumes* where people are at companies for years and years, yet they are quite obviously dumb when you talk to them. I can't imagine how they ever got hired, although it's not too tough to picture them excelling at suck within the job.
So there.
*For my money, Cole National** wins for employing the dumbest person I've interviewed.
**Can I get sued for that? Prolly not, only Shoppy D is liable for this. Man, 'ment blogging' is the bomb!
